TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
In these Terms and Conditions:
Gift Card refers to a physical plastic card, generally handed to the recipient or received through the post. eGift refers to an electronic virtual card, generally received by email.
Where the term Gift Card or Thomas Cook Gift Card is used in these terms and conditions, it refers to both a Gift Card and an eGift , unless stated otherwise.
“We”, “us” and “our” means TCCT Retail Ltd, trading as Thomas Cook and thomascook.com.
“You” and “Your” means the person who purchases or receives a Gift Card or eGift.
1. Registering your Gift Card:
You are responsible for keeping your Gift Card safe, and should treat it as if it were cash. Lost or stolen Gift Cards cannot be replaced unless you have previously registered the Gift Card with us and you report the loss or theft to us within 24 hours of it occurring. After purchasing your Gift Card, you can register it at www.thomascook.com/gift-cards.
2. Reporting a lost or stolen Gift Card:
Any loss or theft of a registered Gift Card must be reported to us within 24 hours of the loss/theft occurring. To report a registered Gift Card as lost or stolen please call 0333 003 5784 or go to your local Thomas Cook UK high street store. We reserve the right not to replace a Gift Card or reimburse any funds on it if the loss or theft is not reported to us within the stated 24 hour timescale. Any funds remaining on the Gift Card as at the time we receive notification of the loss or theft will be protected and transferred onto a new Gift Card, but we cannot reimburse any sum that has already been deducted from the lost or stolen card prior to the time we are notified.
3. Where to purchase Thomas Cook Gift Cards:
Thomas Cook Gift Cards can be purchased at any Thomas Cook UK high street travel store, or online via our website at www.thomascook.com/gift-cards. Online sales of Gift Cards are managed on behalf of Thomas Cook by SVM Global Limited. All Thomas Cook Gift Cards are issued by TCCT Retail Limited.
4. Loading funds onto a Gift Card:
The minimum value that can be loaded onto a Gift Card is £10 and the maximum amount that can be on a Gift Card at any time is £5,000. Gift Cards can be redeemed multiple times up to the value available on the Gift Card at the time of using it to make a payment. Gift Cards are also reloadable and the minimum reload value is £10.
5. Checking the balance on a Gift Card:
If you do not spend the entire balance on your Gift Card, the remaining balance will be updated after each transaction. The balance remaining on your Gift Card can be checked in store, online, or by calling 0333 003 5784. For physical Gift Cards you can also check the balance by scanning the QR code using a QR code reader/scanner app on your smart phone or tablet.
6. Using your Gift Card in a travel store:
Gift Cards can be used at a Thomas Cook store in the UK to pay in full or in part for travel products and services, including travel insurance.
7. Using your Gift Card online:
Thomas Cook Gift Cards can be used online at thomascook.com at the time of making a new booking and to make payments on existing bookings made online, but only when the booking concerned is for a package holiday operated under one of the following brand names: Airtours, Club 18-30, Manos or Thomas Cook. They can also be used to pay for Airtours package holidays on the Airtours website at airtours.co.uk. Please not that Thomas Cook Gift Cards / eGifts cannot be redeemed against online bookings for Flight Only, City Breaks, Hotel Only, Villas or Cruises. To use your Gift Card /eGift on bookings for these products please contact your local Thomas Cook store.
Important note about online use: Please note that it is not possible to use a Gift Card to pay only part of the amount due at the time of making a new booking for an applicable package holiday online; you must have sufficient funds on your Gift Card to cover the full amount requested when you reach the payment screen, which may be a deposit or the full value of the holiday, otherwise the Gift Card will not be accepted. However, it is possible to use more than one Gift Card to pay all or part of the remaining balance due on an existing applicable holiday booking made online. You will have to make a separate payment with each Gift Card that you wish to use against the balance due on the booking.
8. Using your Gift Card for Thomas Cook Sport packages:
Thomas Cook Gift Cards can be used when you book direct with Thomas Cook Sport by telephone. Please call 01733 224 834 to make your Thomas Cook Sport booking and to use your Gift Card as payment either in full or in part, depending on the terms and conditions of the package being booked. Please note that Gift Cards cannot be used to pay for Thomas Cook Sport packages online at thomascooksport.com.
9. Excluded Purchases:
It is not possible to use your Gift Card to purchase foreign currency, to carry out money transfers, to purchase any other travel money or financial services product (other than travel insurance), or to purchase another Gift Card. Thomas Cook Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
10. Expiry date:
Each Gift Card has an expiry date stated on it. Please note that the balance must be used before the expiry date shown or it will be deducted.
If you have used a Gift Card to pay in full or in part for a travel product, and are due a refund of all or part of the cost of that product (e.g. as a result of cancelling or amending your booking), the refund due will be re-credited to your Gift Card in the first instance, unless the refund amount exceeds the amount that was originally taken from your Gift Card, in which case the remainder will be refunded either to your credit or debit card or in cash, depending on which payment method you used originally.
Please note: Gift Cards are not covered by any scheme of financial protection, including that offered by ABTA.
12. Refusal or cancellation of Gift Cards:
Thomas Cook reserves the right to refuse to accept any Gift Card which has been damaged so as to make it unusable/unreadable, or which we consider has been tampered with in any way or which, in our opinion, is being used to commit any type of fraud.
Thomas Cook reserves the right to cancel any Gift Card if, in our opinion, such action is necessary to prevent any fraud or other potential misuse. This does not affect your legal rights.
13. Limitations on transfer and re-sale:
Thomas Cook Gift Cards cannot be re-sold, or exchanged for cash. They become void if re-sold or transferred for value. Monies on unused Gift Cards cannot be transferred.

15. Governing Law
The purchase and use of a Thomas Cook Gift Card is subject to the above terms and conditions, which we may amend at any time without prior notice. These terms and conditions are governed by English Law and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

Means the vehicle for holding funds that are used to book holiday with Thomas Cook.

Conditions of use of the Gift of Travel website
Your access to and use of the Gift of Travel website (this site) is subject to the following terms and conditions which, by accessing and browsing this site, you accept without any limitation or qualification.
The contents of this site are provided by SVM Global Limited (SVM). Whilst SVM has endeavoured to ensure that all information on this site is correct, the contents of this site are provided to you "as is" without representation or warranty of any kind (express or implied) including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
To the extent permitted in law, SVM accepts no liability for any statement, inaccuracy or omission on this site.
SVM accepts no liability for any direct, special, indirect or consequential loss or damages of any kind resulting from the use of any information obtained directly or indirectly from this site or for any viruses that may infect your computer equipment or other property on account of your access to, use of, downloading of or browsing in this site. All such liability is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The information on this site is subject to change and may be amended or withdrawn at any time without notice. These Conditions of Use may be changed at any time without notice.
Upon registering an Account with Gift of Travel, the Account holder will receive a Gift Card, dispatched inactive and without balance. This Gift Card is then associated with the Account.
The Account Holder is required to complete set up of a personal page, which may include;
- Profile image
- Welcome message
- Confirmation of personal page URL extension
Each profile image is checked by SVM Global to ensure that it is appropriate for use on the Website. Profile images are subject to being removed without prior warning.
Each public text field is checked by SVM Global to ensure that the content is appropriate for all audiences. Offensive and/or inappropriate text is subject to being removed without prior warning.
Account Holders are then able to share their personal page URL with friends and family, allowing them to contribute funds to the Gift of Travel account. Sharing of the personal page using social media accounts will be subject to the privacy settings of your social media account which you advised to review before sharing.
Funds that have been contributed to the Account are not held in any account with SVM Global, and are instead immediately transferred to a Thomas Cook Gift Card which is the vehicle by which the e-money license is protected.
An Account can be closed at any time, however Funds that have been contributed and sit on the Gift Card are non-refundable (see also the section titled ‘Ownership of Funds on the Gift Card’)..
All funds Contributed by Contributors to an Account cannot be exchanged for cash.
The Gift Card has a maximum balance of £5,000. When a Gift Card associated with the Account reaches £5,000, a new Gift Card will be dispatched to the Consumer.
Contributors can make payments to the Account holder’s Gift of Travel personal page and leave a personal message.
Cleared payment is required prior to funds being placed onto the Gift Card associated with the Account.
Payment is taken automatically at the time of purchase. Your credit/debit card statement will read "SVM Global Ltd". We reserve the right to decline any order without providing explanation.
We will notify you by email to confirm receipt of your Contribution. At this point the contract for our sale and your purchase of the goods shall be made on the terms set out herein and the contract shall be formed at the place from which our acceptance email is sent to you. You may print this page from the website to be kept for your own records.
To ensure that your credit, debit or charge card is not being used without your consent, SVM will validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
In addition to in house verification procedures SVM employs Verified by Visa / MasterCard Securecode which allows customers to protect their credit cards used online by assigning a secret password. If you have joined the scheme you will be required to provide your password during completion of your order. SVM has no knowledge of, or access to, your password. To maintain secrecy your password is submitted directly to your card issuer, over a secure link, and does not get seen or stored by our system. As a member of one of the above schemes, should you not pass the verification process, your payment and order will not be accepted by SVM.
Refund / Returns Policy
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations, your right to request a refund starts from the moment you place your Contribution until 14 days after you receive your goods. Refunds can only be made where the Funds are still available on the Gift Card
Please phone the customer call centre on 03330035784, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to us at Thomas Cook Gift Cards, SVM Global, 21-23 Fitzwilliam Street, Parkgate, Rotherham, S62 6EP to register your request for a refund.
Once you have registered your refund, please put your gift card into the post and send it back to Thomas Cook Gift Cards, SVM Global, 21-23 Fitzwilliam Street, Parkgate, Rotherham, S62 6EP . Once the gift card has been received your refund will be processed along with any delivery charges within 3-5 working days. Refunds will be made to the credit or debit card used for purchase. SVM do not accept responsibility for the loss of your returned goods or your postage charges.
SVM reserves the right to change the range of Gift Cards we offer at any time, without prior notification. SVM takes no responsibility for any changes to the Terms and Conditions relating to each individual Gift Card.
Users should refer to the back of the specific Gift Card for specific terms and conditions and expiry dates. Gift Cards can be redeemed against selected holidays and travel products booked through Thomas Cook but cannot be used against all services offered by the company (. Exclusions include but aren’t limited to travel money, international money transfers or the purchase of other gift cards).
Risk and title will pass to the Consumer upon delivery. Neither SVM nor Thomas Cook can accept any liability for any lost, stolen or damaged Gift Cards once responsibility of ownership has passed to the Consumer at the time of delivery. SVM are not directly linked to Thomas Cook whose products are listed in our range. In the event that any one such product or company is placed in either administration or receivership there is no obligation on SVM to replace or exchange any previously issued, unspent Gift Cards.
These conditions of supply of goods or services govern all orders to and contracts with SVM Global and override any other terms or conditions stipulated, incorporated or referred to by the person, firm or company that has requested Gift Cards.
Gift Cards shall be as described in the acknowledgement of order issued by SVM Global.
The funds on a Gift Card or gift voucher are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the unlikely event of the issuer of a gift card or gift Voucher becoming insolvent some funds on a gift card or gift Voucher may not be available to spend. If the value of an item you wish to purchase is less than the value of the Voucher, the retailer will not refund the difference.
Using the Gift Card to book your Holiday / Honeymoon
The Gift Card(s) associated with the account may be used to book / pay the balance remaining on holidays booked with Thomas Cook.
If Contributions on the Gift Card are in excess of the booking, these funds cannot be returned, and must be used against other aspects of the booking.
If the funds on the Gift Card do not cover the entire cost of the booking when your holiday balance payments are due to Thomas Cook, the remaining balance will need to be paid by another form of accepted payment (such as cash, debit or credit card). Wedding Holiday/Honeymoon: The following applies only to this type of booking made in a Thomas Cook store. If, after you’ve made an additional payment off your holiday balance (other than with your Gift Card), additional contributions are made to the Gift Card which you want to redeem against this same booking, Thomas Cook will refund the same amount (using your same payment method), up to and including 14 days after the date of your return from your wedding / honeymoon.
Ownership of Funds on the Gift Card
The Consumer receiving the Gift Card is advised to register the Gift Card (this can be done by clicking the link on this page: www.thomascook.com/gift-cards/) . In the event the Gift Card is registered by someone other than the Consumer, that person will take over the risk and title of the Gift Card and all funds contributed to that Gift Card will belong to them.
Except as detailed in the paragraph ‘Refund/Returns Policy’ above, once a Contributor has made a payment to the Gift Card, no refund can be made by SVM or Thomas Cook. This is the case even if the purpose of the Gift of Travel is to mark a special occasion (such as a honeymoon) that for whatever reason will not take place. Any dispute about the entitlement to funds on the Gift Card shall be a private matter between the Contributor(’s), Account Holder, Customer and (as applicable) the person who registered the Gift Card and neither Thomas Cook nor SVM will have any involvement in any disputes that arise.
Use of information provided to SVM Global
All information collected by SVM Global is stored and handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).
Financial and payment details such as credit/debit card numbers are removed from our database immediately following payment.
All information supplied in our 'feedback' form will be used solely for the purpose of responding to your query or suggestion.
Please note: Posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene or other inappropriate material is prohibited.
Use of information provided to Thomas Cook
All information collected by Thomas Cook is stored and handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).
The personal information you provide via this site is used to process and deliver your order. In addition if, when you make a purchase on this site, you opt in to receive marketing communications, your contact details will be used by TCCT Retail Ltd and other Thomas Cook group companies to send you information and offers on their products and services by post, email and/or text messages.
Visitors may read, view, print and download one hard copy of material on this site for their personal, non-commercial use only.
